MemryX was co-founded in 2019 by Dr. Wei Lu, an IEEE Fellow and Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Michigan since 2005, and a highly influential expert in memory devices, neuromorphic computing and in-memory computing systems.
Professor in the EECS department at the University of Michigan since 2005 and an IEEE Fellow. Co-founded MemryX in 2019 and defines the company’s product architecture. Previously co-founded Crossbar Inc, a resistive RRAM technology company.
Expertise in accelerator architectures, AI systems and memory-centric computing. Led hardware/software co-design of the MemryX NPU architectures. Widely published, with 17 granted US patents. Ph.D. EE, KAUST.
MemryX gains broader industry recognition for efficient AI inference, including the 2025 Edge AI and Vision Product of the Year Award and growing deployment across multiple Cascade form factors.
AI is evolving quickly. We build technology with room to grow—across models, workloads, products, and generations—so customers can invest in MemryX with the future in mind.
Third-generation production silicon brought MemryX to market with efficient, scalable AI inference across the Cascade product family.
Independent labs, reviewers, and publications have tested MemryX for themselves. See what they found.
First-generation silicon used to validate the core MemryX architecture and software foundation.
Dr. Lu and a small team at Michigan understood that the future of computing depended on the ability to scale and ramp dedicated AI accelerators across a large and diverse embedded market. The team set out to build a fundamental core architecture for edge AI with high flexibility and reconfigurability.
20+ years of semiconductor and vision-systems leadership. Global technical business development leader at Mythic and Luminar, advising CEOs on customer acquisition and market execution. 10 years scaling Tier 1 and OEM business at Onsemi and Intel.
